Producing Methods

A malty dark ale with a complex and flavorful chocolate character with a gentle notes of leather and horse blanket from the wild yeast strain of Brettanomyces lambicus. Fermented with our own mix of ale yeast and brettanomyces yeast to generate a intense but smooth Porter with flavorful chocolate character combined with background of funky fruity esters.

In Norse mythology Ragnarök is the final great battle of gods and jötnar and  foretold to start with natural disasters and the submersion of the world in water. After these events, the world will resurface anew and fertile, the surviving and returning gods and jötnar will meet and unite.

Tasting Notes

Strong malt flavor against chocolate and coffee with a bit of grainy, dark malt dryness in the finish. This Porter have lots of dark chocolate malt with gentle notes of leather and horse blanket from the wild yeast strain. Medium bitterness with a earthy character which balances the dark malt flavors.

Food Pairings

Oysters and Porter is a classic pairing. Dark beefy stew like a braised beef with a porter as companion. Boiled bacon and cabbage or an American-style barbecue especially BBQ ribs or smoked brisket, is a brilliant paring. Smoked meat and a complex porter gives a strong dark contrast to the red meat. For desert there is Stilton and similar mellow blue cheeses or go for some dark chocolate cakes.
